After debuting at No. 1 last week, Richard Clayderman’s album My Classic Collection falls to No. 2 with 655,000, a sales slide of 57%. My Classic Collection carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. My Classic Collection isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Unappreciated gift to Easy Listening
It’s a great pleasure to listen to The Swan from the beginning to the end. Italian Sym No.4 In A#, Op.90 Allegro is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Opening track Aria shows the best of Richard Clayderman. Waltz In A Flat has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Richard Clayderman’s strong vocals come to the fore. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Barcarolle is the more seemingly obscure song on My Classic Collection that bear up best to repeated listening. Nocturne: In D Flat, Op.27, No.2 is so unique, as each one of the songs is. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Forever Green, which shows, blatantly, how much Richard Clayderman has evolved as a singer. Hill Street Blues has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. I listened to the opening track Do You Know (Theme From ‘Mahogany’) and liked it a lot. Sleepy Shores - Check out that bassline! I hope to keep hearing Richard Clayderman works for a long time to come. Tara’s Theme (Main Theme From ‘Gone With The Wind’) presents the astounding mix of instruments on My Classic Collection. Over The Rainbow - This one is lively and fun. Still going through My Classic Collection and coming to appreciate Medley Of Four Seasons more and more with every listen.
