This -song debut EP shows the promise that Robert Fripp has. Since completing 1992’s ‘Sound Scape’, Robert Fripp fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. There is no doubt that Robert Fripp has talent. Smart music for smart people.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Kan-non Power is Yamanashi Blues. Some call Melrose Avenue from Kan-non Power as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Kan-non Power - My least favorite song on this album. Firescape as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. An Easy Way is worth the money. In Moving Force it becomes nowhere more obvious that Robert Fripp has yet to define own style. Asturias has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Walk Don’t Run is probably one of Robert Fripp’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Chromatic Fantasy was the first single release from the album Kan-non Power. Contrapunctus is simply gorgeous. I find myself hearing bits of Eye Of The Needle here and there throughout my waking hours. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Blockhead. Nice and different song. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Pipeline is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
