When you buy a Sly and Robbie album, you know exactly what you’re getting! I am not a real Reggae music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Taxi Fare’ really is amazing. ‘Taxi Fare’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Triplet and Devil Pickney is really good.
I can’t stop humming along Devil Pickney. I believe Rock Music is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written. Pure And True is a strong cut, one of many. VLA Music (4:31) a good melody. Fort Augustus is the funkiest number on the album. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Baltimore as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Taxi Connection is one of the best records ever. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Bang Bang. Red Hot is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Taxi Fare. Unmetered Taxi is one of my favorite songs by Sly and Robbie.
