It’s natural for Sonny Rollins to take a stab at ‘Elysee’ considering her long-professed love for Gridlok. After seeing Elysee, I had to have a good Sonny Rollins cd. Sonny Rollins had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is a scorcher!
Opus is the song that really did it for me. The song Hilo ending is my favorite… so catchy! Fox Hunt is the albums biggest surprise. Morpheus is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Down is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Blue Room is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Whispering is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Sonny Rollins offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Sonny Rollins sings Conception in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Out Of The Blue - another great track from the The Complete Prestige Recordings - Disk 1 album. Overall a nice softer song. Bluing is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Dig is a amazing song and it grows on you. My Old Flame is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. It’s Only A Paper Moon is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
