On the Brazil charts, superstar Sri Chinmoy’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Sri Chinmoy’s new album to that on ‘107 Blue Heart-Boats’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 1992’s ‘Vibraphone’, Sri Chinmoy fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in 107 Blue Heart-Boats. Esraj is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. After you’ve listened to Wind Jamm’r, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Opening track Cow Bells shows the best of Sri Chinmoy. In Paraguayan Harp you won’t find any flashy solos. Bamboo Recorder is probably one of Sri Chinmoy’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Sansa - arguably the best track on 107 Blue Heart-Boats album. Sri Chinmoy has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Finnish Harp is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Still going through 107 Blue Heart-Boats and coming to appreciate Steel Drum more and more with every listen. The first time I listened to Recorder I was struck by its cool sound. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Sri Chinmoy. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Midi Keyboard. I find myself hearing bits of Chant here and there throughout my waking hours. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. I can’t stop playing Capped-Reed Flute. Cornemuse rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Don’t judge Bass Pedals on the first listening. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Percussion Keyboard is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Ocarina is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Modern Dilruba is the first taste of the new album. When I listen to Straight Flute in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Floating Pentatonic Chimes - A classic Sri Chinmoy track. Sampler is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Sri Chinmoy ever produced. Harmonica is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on 107 Blue Heart-Boats is Bouzouki. New Zealand Double Flute gets you up and jumping. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Shakauhachi Keyboards is the song that really did it for me. Lyrics of Madal Drum are precise and evocative. Blew our minds when we first heard Harmonium. Grand Piano (6:34) - awsome.
