It has been two years Stanley Clarke’ last studio CD, “Live (1976-1977)” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Since Stanley Clarke last CD (Live (1976-1977)) on Blue Note Records back in 1991, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Stanley Clarke to take a stab at ‘School Days’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. This album is awesome.
After you’ve listened to Lopsy Lu, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. I can’t stop playing Silly Putty. In Quiet Afternoon you won’t find any flashy solos. Desert Song is the most memorable and astounding. Vulcan Princess the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. The Magician was the first single release from the album Live (1976-1977). Dayride is pretty funky and mellow. Such hits like Bass Folk Song No. 3 will leave you hooked.
