six years ago, The Dillards briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Banjo In The Hollow”. Since completing 1991’s ‘Introduction’, The Dillards fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There were many famous songs of The Dillards available. Check it every song is worth the money for the There Is a Time (1963-70) CD!
Banjo In The Hollow I just LOVE this mix! Dooley is a great opener for There Is a Time (1963-70). Nice and different song. The Old Home Place is probably the most interesting track on There Is a Time (1963-70). Vocals of The Dillards in Somebody Touched Me really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. The sound of Walkin’ Down The Line is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Never See My Home Again have really caught my ear and imagination. Music of Paddy On The Turnpike is gentle, never overbearing. Old Blue one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Liberty is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. If you are a The Dillards fan, you will love There Is A Time. Whole World ‘Round is the albums biggest surprise. Sally Johnson is a gorgeous, simple song by The Dillards at the top of his game. Yesterday is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. There Is a Time (1963-70) couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Rainmaker. Copperfields is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Old Man At The Mill is pretty funky and mellow. Lemon Chimes - This one is lively and fun. Music in I’ll Fly Away is cool as in all tracks of There Is a Time (1963-70). Only one song from There Is a Time (1963-70) named Nobody Knows really got me. Listen To The Sound is almost impossible to review. Reason To Believe sets the tone for the entire album. Hey Boys is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I’ve Just Seen A Face stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. After you’ve listened to Don’t You Cry, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
