This is the first studio album from The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band since bad diagnosis in 1991. Now signed to The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Steppin’ Out Texas Style” leads The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band’s back-to-school campaign. It has been four years The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band’ last studio CD, “Steppin’ Out Texas Style” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Opening track I Wonder Why shows the best of The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band. Nice and different song. The sound in Everbody’s Talkin’ is really warm and The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band’s signature voice is still very much present. Square Bizness is absolutely incredible. Hands On It is really the reason why I recommend buying Steppin’ Out Texas Style. Smokin’ Joe’s Cafe is probably one of The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. That’s All I Want is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. After you’ve listened to Steppin’ Out, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Lonely Days is the albums biggest surprise. Natural Born Lover (live) is outstanding work of The Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band.
