This -song debut EP shows the promise that Tina Turner has. This album has some very good songs like The Best and Steamy Windows. Tina Turner had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. If you want to hear real R&B: Soul, get this record now!
Steamy Windows is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Simply the Best. Typical Male is another favourite of mine. We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome) has a fun tempo. Private Dancer is the song that really did it for me. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. It Takes Two is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. I Want You Near Me - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Way Of The World - another great track from the Simply the Best album. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Love Thing is my favorite song on Simply the Best. A unique and uplifting song. I Can’t Stand The Rain - A classic Tina Turner track. The opening track What’s Love Got To Do With It is very much like you would expect from other albums. I Don’t Wanna Lose You - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Nutbush City Limits gives good insight into the truths. Tina Turner sings What You Get Is What You See in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Simply the Best couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Let’s Stay Together. It’s a great pleasure to listen to River Deep-Mountain High from the beginning to the end.
