It’s natural for Young MC to take a stab at ‘Bust A Move’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. On Stone Cold Rhymin’ album, Young MC have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Young MC’s album Stone Cold Rhymin’ falls to No. 2 with 500,000, a sales slide of 86%. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
I like to sing along with Fastest Rhyme, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Got More Rhymes actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Young MC’s face. I can’t stop playing I Come Off. Young MC is one of artists that allow his songs like I Let ‘Em Know to stand on their own and be heard. Some call Just Say No from Stone Cold Rhymin’ as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Know How - To me, this is the best song on the Stone Cold Rhymin’. Musically My Name Is Young is superior to other tracks in Stone Cold Rhymin’. Non Stop is such a exquisite and optimistic song that things can get just better. Pick Up The Pace has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Young MC’s strong vocals come to the fore. Some of the arrangements found on Stone Cold Rhymin’ are surprisingly edgy. I’ve found myself listening to Roll With The Punches back to back and back many times. Stone Cold Buggin’ is so unique, as each one of the songs is.
