The Lion isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. six years ago, Youssou N’ Dour briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Shakin’ The Tree”. This album has some very good songs like The Lion / Gaiende and Shakin’ The Tree. IT makes me wanna dance!
Shakin’ The Tree motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Youssou N’ Dour. Bamako is perfect song though, very addictive. The Truth pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Get The Lion and turn on Old Tuscon if you are going to sip your wine late at night. In Macoy full palet of sound is used by Youssou N’ Dour to accentuate the presentation. The song feels complete. Once you hear Bes, you will listen to it over and over.
